We are so glad you found us.
The Crown Restoration Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Phoenix, Arizona. We exist because too many people navigating medical hair loss, trauma, and systemic barriers have been left without dignified, culturally competent care. Whether someone is facing hair loss from cancer treatment, living with alopecia, recovering from traction related damage, or simply trying to reclaim their sense of self after a difficult chapter, they deserve to be seen, heard, and restored, not just treated.
That is the work we do here.
Who we serve
Our services are open to anyone navigating medical hair loss, traction alopecia, trauma, or economic hardship that has made professional hair care out of reach. Textured and curly hair expertise sits at the center of everything we offer, delivered with the cultural competence and respect every person deserves.
What we offer
The Crown Restoration Project operates across five connected areas of work:
Direct Restoration Services, including Crown Restoration Sessions and our Loc Restoration Program
Education and Awareness, through workshops and Provider Cultural Competency Training for medical professionals
Workforce Pathways, including our Beauty and Business Pathways program, which builds careers in the natural hair industry
Access and Equity, through Crown Care Vouchers and our Crown Crisis Fund
Advocacy and Research, supporting the CROWN Act and continued education around CCCA and hair-based discrimination
Led with expertise
The Crown Restoration Project was founded by Tyericka Pippins ("Ms. Ty" preferred), a Certified Master Loctician with deep, hands-on expertise in natural hair care, scalp health, and restoration practices. That expertise shapes every service we provide and every person we serve.
A larger vision
The Crown Restoration Project is one part of a broader vision Ms. Ty has built around natural hair care, education, and entrepreneurship. That ecosystem includes The Loc Loft, a boutique natural loc salon serving the Phoenix community, The Loc University, which offers structured education from foundational loc care through the Master Loctician Credential, and LocD Essentials by Ms. Ty, a natural hair care product line crafted specifically for loc wearers. Each part of this ecosystem operates on its own, but they share one belief in common: that natural hair deserves expert care, and the people who wear it deserve dignity at every stage of that journey.
This is just the beginning
We are building this organization one restored crown at a time. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, every donation to The Crown Restoration Project is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, and we welcome partnership from funders, medical providers, and community organizations who share our commitment to dignity centered care.
If you or someone you know is navigating medical hair loss, trauma, or barriers to hair care, we invite you to reach out. If you want to support this work through donating, volunteering, or partnership, there is a place for you here too.
Restoring crowns. Reclaiming dignity.
