Our Programs
The Crown Restoration Project delivers programs that restore people's hair, scalp health, and dignity. We work with people experiencing medical hair loss, traction alopecia, alopecia areata, CCCA, and the hair impacts of trauma and economic hardship. Every program below is designed to restore the hair on someone's head and the confidence that comes with it.

How We Restore Your Crown and Dignity
Direct Hair and Scalp Restoration
Hands-on professional hair and scalp restoration for people experiencing medical hair loss, alopecia, traction alopecia, CCCA, and chemotherapy-related hair loss. Delivered at The Loc Loft or partner salons by a Master Loctician and trained practitioners.

Hair and Scalp Health Education
Community education on scalp health, recognizing the early signs of hair loss, when to seek medical evaluation, and culturally competent care for textured hair. Free resources, workshops, and educational content for the public and for medical providers.
Sub-programs:
Crown Care Workshops, Crown Health Library, Provider Cultural Competency Training
Workforce Pathways in Natural Hair
Career training and apprenticeship programs that prepare individuals for entrepreneurship and employment in the natural hair industry. Designed for returning citizens, foster youth, displaced workers, and individuals from the populations TCRP serves.

Beauty and Business Pathways, Crown Restoration Apprenticeship, Reentry Crown Pathway
Access and Equity
Financial barrier removal for people who could not otherwise afford professional hair and scalp restoration care or natural hair education. Subsidized vouchers, and emergency funds.

Crown Care Vouchers, Crown Crisis Fund
Hair Equity Advocacy
Public education and advocacy around hair-based discrimination. Grounded in the federal CROWN Act (Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair), Arizona's existing protections, and the gap in local protections in Phoenix.

Phase 1 Programs Now Active
Crown Restoration Sessions, Loc Restoration Program, Crown Care Vouchers, and Beauty and Business Pathways are currently serving our community. Additional programs will launch as capacity and funding allow.
